Youth Scholarship

The National Zebu Cattle Club (NZCC) is an organization for Miniature Zebu Breeders, Owners, and Enthusiasts to promote and educate about the Zebu breed in the United States. The board will award a minimum $500 annual scholarship to a deserving high school senior. The scholarship will be paid directly to the youth to be applied to costs to further their education.

Scholarship packets must be postmarked by March 29, 2024.

Scholarship Checklist:
To receive consideration, applicants must:
 Be a current member of the National Zebu Cattle Club
 Be a high school senior
 Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
 Plan to attend a university, community college or vocational or technical certification program
 Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from teachers, professors, academic advisors, or community members. Letters should include your association with the individual writing the recommendation. Letters from family members will not be accepted.

 Submit scholarship packet: application, official transcript, letters of recommendation, and essay. All questions must be answered for application to be considered eligible.

Essay:
Students will submit an essay with their scholarship packet. The essay must be 1-2 typewritten pages (double-spaced, 12 pt. font). The essay should answer the following questions:

 What type of agricultural, extra-curricular, and community activities have you been active in? Describe the impact that these activities have had on you, your family, and your community.

 What do you believe is the single biggest challenge and the single biggest opportunity for the miniature zebu cattle industry in the United States?

Selection Process:
The scholarship committee of the NZCC will select the scholarship recipient based on the essay, academic achievement, and recommendation letters.

The scholarship packet must be postmarked by the deadline indicated in order to receive consideration. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
